My name is Theresa and I am an ESL teacher currently residing in Canada. I have been teaching English as second language for several years now, in a variety of different ways and I thoroughly enjoy it. I started teaching ESL when I was a student myself in high school, by tutoring exchange students and helping them get accepted to Canadian Universities. More recently, I taught English as a Kindergarten teacher while living China. During this time I also privately taught older students and helped them develop their intermediate English speaking and writing skills.

I believe the easiest way to learn a new language is to immerse yourself completely in it and so through my lessons I try to incorporate a variety of learning strategies that encompass speaking, reading and writing skills. That being said, I believe it is important to cater each lesson to each individual, based upon their learning goals, in order to ensure maximum learning potential.

Çalışma Deneyimi

2013 - 2014
ESL Teacher
Rockies English Language School - Jinan, Shandong, China
During my time at Rockies English Language School, I taught as an ESL teacher in a variety of roles. My primary role was as a Kindergarten teacher in a classroom setting; however, I provided private lessons with older students in a one on one setting. The lessons I prepared for my students were mainly focused on oral language skills with some lessons on written English and preparations for the CET exams. I created various lesson plans designed to engage students through activities, English stories, English songs and games designed for maximum interaction in large and small groups. As an ESL teacher with Rockies I demonstrated the ability to sell the company's teaching materials and to capture more students through demo lessons and by engaging with parents. I was able to build a trusting relationship with students and parents, which allowed for maximum learning potential.
