Hakkımda

Perhaps teaching is as some say: a calling. I enjoy learning and helping others educate themselves. I believe through, education, comes true success. I have been teaching/tutoring since my early college years (about 10 years now). I find that I am able to help others, and if there is something I need to first learn or research myself, then all the better.

My academic background is Near Eastern Languages and Studies. I acquired both a B.A. and M.A. in the field. Part of my focus was language learning and acquisition. I then became certified in the state of New Jersey to teach grades K-6 (all subjects) and K-12 Arabic Language. After teaching middle school students for two years, I helped found an Arabic language program at a local high school in New Jersey, which involved creating a suitable curriculum and practically "test-driving". After three years, we were able to form three levels, both novice and intermediate.

I am now teaching and ESL course (English as a Second Language) to a group of non-native students, while pursuing a TEFL Certificate. We use different strategies and methods including watching various videos and allotting a segment of each session for conversational practice. We use different books and tools in our learning process to help students acquire the necessary grammar skills, build up their reading and writing skills, and slowly build up their conversational skills, with an awareness of colloquial variations.

With that said, I hope to help students develop their language skills. Some students may require counseling sessions to assist them to find the right tools and resources, and employ correct methods. Although I may not necessarily know the particular language you are pursuing, I can help assist you through the process by guiding you to the tools and methods of language acquisition. Language learners need to (try to) replicate native learners' environment, to understand the various cultural, social, and linguistic factors that formed the current version of the desired language.
