Hakkımda

Hello Everyone!

My name is James and I will help you become a natural AND professional English speaker!

Hometown and Education:
I’m from South Carolina and I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Soka University of America. My studies focused on Global Citizenship and Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Teaching Experience:
For 3+ years I was an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) through the JET Programme from 2012-2015. While teaching in Japan, I have tutored many types of students - elementary through college, special needs, and elderly students; any level is okay!

Teaching Style:
-Strong focus on idioms and colloquial speech patterns
-Include local and frequently used slang in conversation exercises
-Reduce thinking time in live conversations
-A lot of practice sounding confident and natural

Rates (based off of CEFR level):
A1 = $10 USD/hr
A2 = $15 USD/hr
B1 = $20 USD/hr
B2 = $25 USD/hr
C1 = $30 USD/hr
C2 = $40 USD/hr

If you do not know your level, that's okay! Sign up for a trial lesson and with a student interview we can find your CEFR level.

***For now, I am only teaching teaching A1 + A2 students! I will change this when I create better lessons for B1 - C2 levels. If we decide you are above A2 then we can discuss a personal lesson plan.

Send me a message for any questions and I'll see you in class.
