Hi, I'm Bonnie, and I'm not your average e-teacher! I'm a professional writer, an editor of academic literature, a researcher of language acquisition, and a graduate of linguistic studies; I'm also an animal lover, a collector of body art, a bike-traveler, a music enthusiast, and a keen examiner of both the human condition and the universe we inhabit. But first and foremost, I'm a certified ESL teacher with more than 13 years of experience (including 3 years as an online instructor and 2 years on Verbling).
I provide editing services (please contact me for more information) as well as more traditional online classes. I specialize in business and academic English, informal discourse and conversation, exam preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS), phonetics (the sounds of speech), and pragmatics (the use of language in the North American context, such as idioms, colloquialisms, and social conventions). I have experience teaching all ages and levels, although I specialize in intermediate- and advanced-level adult learners.
My hardware is an HD 1080P webcam, and I have a very high speed (110 mbps) cable internet connection.
