About me
After teaching English for many years in England and other countries. I am from Cambridge (and I have a clear, neutral British English accent) but I now live in the north of Scotland where I spend my free time walking in the beautiful countryside. Teaching gives me a lovely opportunity to chat to people from all over the world.
Me as a teacher:
I am a qualified EFL teacher with the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults).
I have a wide variety of experience of teaching English and should be able to help you whatever your level of English.
My experience includes:
Online lessons in general English and exam preparation
General English, academic English and IELTS preparation in colleges in Nottingham and Loughborough, England
General English and preparation for Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE and CPE) in Cambridge
Business English in Prague
English conversation and FCE preparation with school children in Zurich, Switzerland
My style
I have a flexible approach to teaching, which means I will plan each lesson to suit your specific needs. My lessons would include:
a trial lesson and needs analysis questionnaire
a plan for around 6 lessons in advance
grammar and vocabulary revision and practice with written exercises and conversations
introduction of new grammar and vocabulary
work on pronunciation
lots of speaking
exam strategy and practice if required
reading and writing exercises for homework, if required
listening homework using audio files or BBC radio programmes
vocabulary and grammar tests
