Hello, my name is Suzana. I'm from Serbia. I'm 31 years old. First, I’m a professional language teacher. I’ve been working on Italki as a professional teacher for 1 year and six months (and I’ve been also working as an informal tutor for two years). Second, I’ve been working as a Serbian language expert for three years and three months: I created Serbian lessons and taught foreign people my native language. Third, I’ve been a translator for one year and six months: I translated English and Spanish lessons to Serbian. Also, I translated the synopses of the movies from English to Serbian. Finally, I'm a language expert who speaks many languages. I correct English, Spanish and Italian exercises, and I explain all grammar rules so that they can be understood by other people. My lessons are very creative, interesting and fun. I am going to teach you how to read, speak and write step by step. When you finish my Serbian classes, you're going to be ready to speak in Serbian without any problem in all kinds of situations. All materials that I have are going to be at your disposal. You can download them, and they can serve as an aid in your studies. Also, I'm going to give you various types of exercises so you can improve your language skills. Why should you choose me? The Serbian phrase is: “The more you know - the more you're worth”. Also, Serbian is spoken in all parts of ex-Yugoslavia (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia ...), in some parts of Greece, Bulgaria, etc. If you decide to travel, it is going to be convenient for you. Please try my introductory 30-minute lesson. Additionally, during the introductory lesson, I'm going to assess your level of knowledge so I can personalize lessons to suit your personal needs. I´m looking forward to working with you! I wish you all the best.

Hello, everybody! Zdravo svima! I am a native born Serbian woman and a professional Serbian teacher with 3 years of experience. Teaching is my passion, and I adore my job. I have students from all over the world: Brenda from Mexico, Cem and Bora from Turkey, Brus and Nik from America, Blas from Venezuela, Martin and Ursula from Switzerland, Constanze from Germany, Eva from France... They are my friends today! :) And I believe that the good professor always becomes a friend with his students. Audrey Hepburn believes in miracles and pink, and I don't believe - I know that the power of the teacher-student relationship is fantastic! :) I start my lessons with basic things (The present tense of the verb 'Jesam = to be', personal pronouns, the gender of the nouns...), but I follow student's pronunciation all the time and I correct it. We always go step by step: First, you need the Present tense, for example, and after that the Accusative. I don't start teaching Locative until I am sure the Accusative is perfect, and the same is for each case or tense. For every topic. When my students make a mistake, I use 'Please, say it again' model until I get the right answer. The most important thing about grammar is training. You can't become Cristiano Ronaldo in one night. So, I follow the book with my students, but I also have a lot of extra exercises. My part of the job is to be an inspiring professor for you. Your part of the job is to ask me if anything is not definite and to make your list of words: Whenever you want to say something in Serbian, and you don't know the word for that - write it. Also, your part of the job is to use the Serbian language whenever you can. It is lovely if you have someone with whom you can practice. For the beginning, 10 minutes a day is enough. And soon you will be able to recognize our lessons in their speech. If they correct you and you don't have the explanation for that, make a note, and we will discuss it. But, even if you don't have Serbian friends, don't worry - You have me, and the conversation is an essential part of our lessons. That's why it is imperative that you trust me and to feel comfortable with me - comfortable to speak (at the beginning, that will be only a few short sentences) and that means - to make mistakes. :) So, prepare a notebook and a pencil, set up your goal and start learning Serbian! Now! The sooner you start, the sooner you will speak it! See you soon! Vidimo se uskoro! :) The Serbian language is waiting for us! :)

Hello! My name is Ana. I'm a Serbian native with 2 master's degrees: one in Teaching Serbian as a Foreign Language, the other in The English Language and Literature. My teaching career starting more than 15 years ago, and teaching has become both my passion and profession. I’ve adopted some teaching principles which are included in each of my classes: I believe that each lesson should be relevant to the student; what I teach to my students is at the same time important to them. Besides relevance, I’m giving my students a sense of achievement: they feel they have mastered a new word, grammar rule, challenging sound, a useful idiom…. It can then be their “takeaway” – something they can take with themselves after a class and that can be readily applied in their lives outside the class. And all of these should not be possible if they weren’t done in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I love the energy my students and I exchange in a class, and meeting new people has always been a great pleasure for me! When I don’t teach, I like animals (a proud owner of 5 cats and 5 dogs), taking photos, spending time outdoors on a lovely warm day. To be honest, I hate coldness, and I’d rather hibernate through winter if possible! While waiting for spring and summer to come, I read and indulge in discovering great books and savoring black coffee. So, I’m looking forward to having a class with you! Let’s both enjoy the classes! Hope to see you soon!
