I'm a qualified English teacher and a native speaker from the UK. I specialise in improving spoken English. I have been teaching English to adults for more than 15 years and have taught more than 25,000 online English lessons. In my lessons, you will expand vocabulary and improve fluency. You will learn to speak confidently and communicate effectively. You will receive the practice and correction that you need to succeed in English. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy travelling, taking photos, walking my dog, and I love cooking for my friends and family. If you would like to improve your English, I would love to help you. I hope to speak with you soon. Emma :-)
**********............WATCH MY VIDEO TO SEE MY TEACHING SKILL...............********** I like my job! Just two weeks after I began teaching in 2009, I realised that I had a talent. Therefore, teaching has always been easy for myself and I feel very confident. Many long-term students have become my friends. I have several unique selling points that are important when future students are searching for their teacher. Slowly, step by step, I too learnt elementary grammar together with my students and, since then, I can competently explain it. I enjoy grammar whereas the majority of native speakers cannot explain grammar at all, because they do not know it themselves. They learnt English as children and were never taught the rules of grammar at school. Furthermore, I have a nice British accent. In fact, my accent quickly improved when I first lived overseas 17 years ago. I began to deliberately speak clearly, carefully pronouncing every word, so that people could understand me more easily. This quickly became my normal speech. Furthermore, now I can speak conversational Russian. Finally, I am a patient person. Some children are much happier showing me their toys, in comparison to reading from a book or learning an English story for school. However, this is very normal. I allow the children to release their excitement as they show me such toys and pets, or tell me about their weekend, before guiding them back to the tasks required in our lesson. In fact, many of the intelligent children do not even need my help to do their school homework. They are clever enough to do it themselves, answering the questions often quicker than I can. However, they enjoy the company and moral support of studying with me. It provides them with motivation. I have a qualifying law degree from London.

Hello Friend! I hope you're having a great day! My name is Brent and I am from Santa Rosa, California. My hometown is in the California wine country, a beautiful place with outstanding weather. I have lived in Japan for thirteen years. I lived in Osaka for one year and then moved to Tokyo. I came to Japan because I am a poet and I love haiku. Japan is a wonderful country that has changed me in many positive ways. And the sushi...wow. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature/Poetry with a Minor in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. My interests include haiku, hiking, comedy, studying Japanese, reading, food, traveling, baseball, and music. I am a very curious person and I enjoy learning about others' hobbies and interests. As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges involved with learning languages, which helps me address student concerns and needs in a constructive way. I teach all kinds of English, including general conversation, business English, TOEIC, TOEFL, Eiken, and kids lessons. I teach a wide range of ages, from two months old to eighty years old. Let me customize English lessons for you. We can use any books, newspapers, movies, songs, or other learning materials you like. I can also create original materials just for you! I love my students' English. There is no bad English. No one has bad English. If you can say "Hello.", that's great. If you can say "Nice to meet you.", that's great. The key is to own your English because it's yours! It's all about enjoying studying and getting better every day. One of my favorite haiku poets is Kobayashi Issa and this is one of his best poems. 蝸牛そろそろ登れ富士の山 Katatsumuri sorosoro nobore Fuji no yama Climb Mount Fuji, O snail, but slowly, slowly. This haiku has many meanings but one of my favorites is that Issa is telling even a snail, which is very slow, to slow down and enjoy climbing Fuji. It's the same with learning. Learning a language is like climbing Mt. Fuji. It's challenging and it takes time. Of course we want to improve every day but we have to make sure we look around and really enjoy the beautiful scenery, we should enjoy the new language we learn. Being a poet, I like to share my love of language with students so that they can experience more fully the joys of studying English. I am a people person and I use humor and a student-oriented approach to create a fun, comfortable learning environment. Your goals are my goals. I hope to meet you soon!

For the last 20 years I have been involved with international students at high school and university levels. My work has given me a lot of experience in communicating with students and families whose first language is not English. My lessons will always be based on the student's present level and interest. I like to use written examples to help students develop skills in speaking and listening. My personal interests are sports, history, politics, travel, psychology, sociology, academic planning, human relations and personal development.
Do you need to improve your IELTS speaking score? How about your Business English? Do you need to attend meetings, speak to international colleagues or improve your email/report writing skills? These are the skills I specialize in. I have been teaching General, Academic and Business English since 2009, full time - this is not my part time hobby and I am committed to getting results like this: "I've just taken the IELTS a couple of days ago; i don't know the results yet, but during the test i remembered every single lesson which I've learned with Sam in all the assessed areas. One more time, thanks Sam for cheering me up each and every class, I'm proud to have had the privilege to learn this amazing language from you!! Blessings :)" Raul then promptly scored a 7 in IELTS and was accepted to study a PhD in Canada. In our sessions, we will focus on the type of English you *need* and focus on the area of speaking most. After you have scheduled a lesson with me, I will ask you for a short description of your goals, then when it comes to a trial lesson I will evaluate your oral fluency. This means that even if you decide not to take lessons with me, you will have a clear picture of which areas you need to improve! I have a Degree in Education (English Literature), TEFL certification and as a corporate trainer have taught over a 1000 students and over a 100 companies IELTS, general English and Business English classes for over 7 years. I greatly look forward to meeting you online so that we can create your tailor-made Enhanced English Action Plan. I would love to help you like I helped Ahmed: "He is the best teacher in Verbling. I spoke before with many teachers but no one of them listen carefully to my mistakes and write it down while I am speaking. I highly recommend him, especially if you struggle with your IELTS score."
